Water- your underrated gym bro
- 28 Feb, 2026
A sip of water every now and then, especially while exercising, can perform miracles. Why black out during leg day or do your final sets at half your strength when you can instead drink water to solve all these problems. Keeping hydrated is essential to anyone's daily routine, and when you’re a regular gym-goer, this importance only increases.
So how much should you drink? You might find a bunch of places on the internet telling you to drink exact amounts of water at particular times, but that’s incredibly difficult to track. Instead, I recommend carrying a 1-1.5 liter bottle for an hour-long gym session, taking small sips of water between sets. It's also important that you don’t drink too much since that can cause stomach aches while exercising, especially in more cardio-based workout routines.
Furthermore, you have to realize that energy drinks, protein shakes, or anything else is never a replacement for water. That isn’t to say that you shouldn’t drink those things, but instead thatyou should drink a certain amount of water regardless of whatever else you plan on carrying with you to the gym.
Well, that’s it, now go ahead and stay hydrated.
