Crafting the Perfect Gym Bag
Nothing ruins a workout more quickly than forgetting your shoes. or, worse, deodorant. It's time to update your gym bag, regardless of whether you're new to lifting or simply sick of using someone else's towel (ew). This gym bag needs everything you require, but nothing else, because you don’t want carrying it around to be a workout in itself. So here are some gym bag essentials:
Deodorant
This does not need much explanation, but make sure you don’t overdo it. A quick spray before and a spray after the workout is enough.
Towel
Having a towel you can place on the machines and benches you use is a lifesaver for both you and the person using the equipment after you. Placing the towel prevents you from touching bacteria and other germs that might be on the equipment and makes sure that you don’t leave a sweat mark on it yourself. Carrying a smaller towel along with you might also be a great idea to wipe your face in between sets.
Water Bottle
Remaining hydrated is essential while working out to prevent you from blacking out, while also keeping you refreshed for your next set. Normally, I have noticed that 750ml to a liter of water is enough for a one hour workout, but if you feel like you need more carry a bottle of any size suitable to you.
Headphones/Earbuds
Gym music is really bad, and to make sure you don’t have to listen to that always carry a charged pair of earbuds or headphones in your gym bag. The type of music you play during your workouts is also known to influence your performance, but more on that in a different blog.

So those are the essentials of a perfect gym bag, but follow along as I mention some, non-essential, but great additions to your bag in a different blog. Now go out there and crush it!
