CARDIO APPLIED- WHAT AND WHY

CARDIO APPLIED- WHAT AND WHY

Cardio has a bad reputation amongst teens, with some believingthat it kills gains while others think of it as just a weight loss strategy, but cardio is much more than that.

In simple terms, cardio is a group of exercises that raise your heart rate and therefore work your cardiovascular system. These exercises are extremely varied, but each of the different options has similar impacts on your health. This makes sure that you can select the type of cardio that you enjoy while enjoying all the same benefits.

But why should you do cardio? Well, I can’t possibly fit this into a legible paragraph, so here's a long list of benefits.

• Better sleep
• Boosts your mood
• Reduces pain and stiffness
• Weight loss (yes, you knew this one)
• Increases energy levels
• Lowers or manages blood pressure and cholesterol levels
• Lowers risk of heart disease, diabetes (type 2), and even certain types of cancer
• Stabilizes blood sugar levels
• Strengthens your immune system

The benefits of cardio far exceed just weight loss, making it a requirement in any exercise routine.

So there’s the what and why of cardio, and now that I have convinced you to add it to your routine, I have dropped another blog about the how and when.
